STAY | Venn Farm - Bude, Cornwall

We were recently invited to stay at Venn Farm near Bude and asked to review it for This is Your Kingdom and The Simple Things magazine.

The July issue of The Simple Things is now out, so I'm able to share some more about this beautiful holiday home.

Although we have visited Cornwall many times, prior to this visit we had never stayed in Bude. We tend to go further down the coast towards St. Ives, so this was a perfect opportunity to explore a new area for us - the North Cornwall coast.

Venn Farm is situated between two nature reserves and set within a seven acre small holding. It's just a short drive from the many beaches at Bude but still feels like a hidden gem, reached only by country lanes.

Karen and Conrad Allen moved with their children from London to Cornwall and were drawn to the plot at Venn Farm not only by the farmhouse (which is now their home) but also by the opportunity to develop the barns on site into contemporary holiday lets. Conrad met us when we arrived and showed us around The Cob - the largest of the barns - and our home for the next few days.

We were completely blown away by the contemporary and light feel of The Cob. We loved the sociable kitchen with its concrete worktops, Eames dining chairs set around the large, family table and the luxurious wood burner. Upstairs, the bedrooms were all beautifully decorated and complimentary Ren toiletries were provided in the bathrooms. Outside we were spoilt with two deck areas and a large lawn leading to the woodland. There are free-range hens here and we were encouraged to collect eggs during our stay.

Thanks so much to Karen and Conrad for inviting us to stay at their beautiful barn. If you'd like the chance to win a stay at Venn Farm, just head over to The Simple Things website and enter their competition.
